Recording Weekend: Success!

On November 16, 2012, we set out to record our sophomore album "The Great Expanse". With great gusto, and lots of silliness, the four of us (plus two) were successful in accomplishing 96% of the recording process, with only group vocals left to complete in the near future. With the event documented and edited, we're happy to present a vidblog to the world. Check it out!

With it, a reminder that we are taking pre-orders NOW! That's right! You can pre-order the new album today! Check out all the pre-order options before they disappear.

We leave you with our usual farewell:

Expansion

So we've crawled out of our hyper sleep chambers, as the earth draws near to completing another rotation around the sun. We've expanded our capacity to carry another member on this journey, and I'm totally convinced that this was destined from the start. Playing shows again feels great, and only further convinces me that the universe intended for us to be four people, making great music together, and taking that music on the road to share with anybody else ready to listen. It feels good.

The show last night was no exception for us, we did what we do best, which is show up to an unsuspecting venue, and tear it down with every note screaming from our fingers and mouths. The response was great, and I even heard people I've never heard before, belting out words their ears were virgin to. It's an awesome feeling, singing alongside fellow human beings that you've never met before, but have somehow established a new connection with through music. I can't wait to get back out there and do it again.

After we left the venue, things were great too. We shared food with friends, and had fun conversation. Then we hopped back into the van and headed home (even though the van can also feel like home). It was a late, but great night. Good preparation for the weekend to come, as we get ready to record our new album, The Great Expanse. I've never felt this good, or compelled to make and share music with other people than I do right now. As we prepare to head into our third year as a band, with our new fourth member, there is a new sense of vitality and urgency to do more and more. Everything is happening as it should, and it is good. Hopefully we'll see you soon.

I'll sign off with our accustomed band farewell, love you love the band (LYLTB).
